The Fibonacci Sequence is defined as: a sequence of numbers in which each number equals the sum of the two preceding numbers.
Or perhaps better understood by the rule: an = an-1 + an-2

While that may be the technical of the Fibonacci Sequence, there is much more to it than that. The Fibonacci Sequence has a rich history, a variety of patterns, and the ability to manifest itself in nature, even if isn't always obvious.
